A new viking adventure for children celebrating the story of Havelok and Grim the Viking.
Long ago in the time of the Vikings, Grim and his family had to flee their homeland bringing with them the boy prince, Havelok.
They found safety in the land of Danelaw on the shore of the River Humber. They built a croft that became a village that became a town and one of the mightiest ports in the world.
The links with Denmark, Scandinavia and Iceland continue to this very day. Huge windfarms at sea capture the power of the same winds that brought Havelok and Grim to safety all those years ago.
Today, people living in Grim's town are called Grimbarians. They hold a Viking festival called Grim Falfest and celebrate Grim and Havelok with exhibitions and artworks and re-enactment group Lindesige Saeweard recreate the Viking way of life.
Havelok's Kingdom is created by some of those Grimbarians.
HAVELOK'S KINGDOM is a place for new activities and stories for children
exploring the exciting time of the Vikings.
